Drawing No. RPF-400-2
Remove the original Piper sunvisor. To do this you will need a Phillips screwdriver and a crescent wrench. When the screws are removed the spring loaded clamp should release from the mounting arm. Take the center trim cap off. You will need the Phillips screwdriver
to do this. After this has been removed, the overhead trim piece will
also need to be taken off, start with the pilots side first. To do this
remove the screws from this piece and the. first screw from the outboard
trim.
After the trim pieces have been removed, you now need to take off the mounting arm. To do this you will need the crescent wrench and a 5/16 wrench. Use the crescent wrench to hold the arm and the 5/16 wrench to take off the lock nut on top of the mounting arm.
Once the mounting arm has been removed, make sure to save both of the angled spacers and also the lock nut. These will be needed for the Rosen sunvisor system. Now the new Rosen mounting arm will need to be installed. To do this, insert the Rosen mounting arm into the same hole that the original mounting arm was in. Be sure to place the angled spacers onto the Rosen arm in the same position as on the original arm. If you're not entirely sure of how they were placed refer above to Figure |2. Before the Rosen mounting arm is tightened down, make sure the arm is close to vertical. If an adjustment needs to be done, can be done by rotating the angled spacers. With the Rosen mounting arm in place, the overhead trim piece can be replaced. Once the overhead trim has been replaced, attach the Rosen sunvisor assembly to the mounting arm. Use the 8-32 x 1/2" socket head cap screw and 9/64 hex key provided.
Tension can be adjusted to customer satisfaction with the allen wrenches provided. After installing the pilots side, repeat the procedure with the copilots visor. Each side should only take 20-30 minutes to install. Once installation is complete for the entire system, replace the center
trim cap. Visors will stow in different positions, but generally the Piper will stow aft and overhead.
Your system has a complete one-year warranty, but you must complete and send us the warranty card within 15 days of purchase for it to be valid. |
