Drawing No. RCOM-400 These instructions cover both the standard Rosen NSA sunvisor for the Comanche, part #RCOM-300-1, and the third axis unit, #RCOM-300-1A. The common factor in the Comanche is the upper front windshield trim and the 6/32 screws that hold it in lace. First remove your present sunvisors and replace the screw in the inboard hole leaving the outboard hole exposed. Remove the outer most 6/32 fastener in the trim piece on pilots and copilots side. Install the pilots mounting bracket and slide assembly using the stainless 6/32 1/2" socket cap screws provided and using a washer on either side of the mounting bracket as shown. An 7/64 allen wrench is provided to insure a snug fit.
To be sure you are mounting the units on the correct side: the brackets, if viewed from above should look as follows;
Repeat this procedure for the copilots side. To operate, simply tension the visor movements to your desired tension with the allen wrenches provided. Motion to the side window is controlled with the cap screw in back of the block:
Motion to rotate the visor up to" the overhead is controlled with the socket head cap screw in the side of the block. Third axis tension, if your unit is so equipped is controlled by the 10/32 nylock socket head cap screw shown below.
The visors will extend in the slides and should move far enough to the rear to cover the complete face. Tension can be adjusted with the red thumb screw. Your visors can be stowed overhead in several different positions as indicated below.
Because of different pilot heights, seat positions, etc., the stowage position will be different for different pilots. On the copilots side, perhaps a forward quartering stowage position is best to keep the visor clear of the doorway when open. |
